AINER travels to Belfast to explore potential for cooperation with business networks in Northern Ireland

On April 7th, AINER participated on a study visit to Belfast (Northern Ireland), invited by the Economic Development Institute of the Principality of Asturias (IDEPA) under ATCLUSTERS II project. This project aims to explore the possibilities of transnational cooperation between clusters in the Atlantic Area and connect them to facilitate their development at European and international level. This activity was also attended, with specific agendas, by other Spanish entities like the Innovative Knowledge Business Group of Asturias, the Audiovisual Cluster of Asturias and the Galician Audiovisual Cluster.

AINER maintained contacts with NISP Connect, Northern Ireland Science Park, Invest NI, Queen’s University Belfast and businesses of Northern Ireland energy sector, focused on the development of activities in two areas: firstly, marine renewable energy, particularly regarding offshore wind power industry; and secondly, microgrids for the integration of renewable energy and energy storage.
