AINER participates with IDEPA in Mission for Growth in the Wallonia Region

The Energy Technology Consortium of Asturias (AINER) participated, on 18th February, in the Mission for Growth held in the Belgian city of La Louvière, in the Wallonia Region. The event was led by the Vice President of the European Commission and responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship, Antonio Tajani, along with the participation of the Belgian Prime Minister, Elio Di Rupo, and the Director-General of the Enterprise and Industry DG of the European Commission, Daniel Calleja Crespo.

‘Missions for Growth’ are organized by the Enterprise Europe Network and are part of the European growth strategy Europe 2020. The aim of these events is to promote business partnerships between regional SMEs with other European companies through participation in networking events. More specifically, in the case of the mission to Wallonia, the target sectors were:

  • Aeronautics and Space
  • Mechanical industry: mechatronics, materials and surfaces of the future
  • Biotechnology, especially (Bio)-Pharma and Life-Sciences
  • Logistics
  • Creative Industries

In the Mission Growth Wallonia bilateral meetings were held between European clusters, involving 60 clusters from around 13 different countries. Overall, more of 500 companies and organizations from 37 countries participated on the event, which held more than 800 bilateral meetings.

AINER took this opportunity to held bilateral meetings with clusters, business federations and companies from Belgium, Brazil, Slovenia, France and Hungary, as well as representatives from various Spanish institutions, identifying possible synergies and collaboration lines.
